The Association of Corporate Counsel Hong Kong Chapter (ACCHK) has announced a refreshed board of directors, positioning the organization for a new phase of growth under the leadership of president Winnie Tse. Tse, who serves as senior legal counsel at Sinopec Century Bright Capital Investment, brings a blend of in‑house experience and a track record of active involvement within ACCHK, including a stint as co‑chair of its seminars committee before her elevation to the board.

Joining Tse at the helm is vice president Sandra Wu, who directs a boutique consultancy, Centrium Advisory. The board’s financial stewardship falls to treasurer Edward Tsim, an APAC commercial counsel at Binance, whose background in the rapidly evolving cryptocurrency sector adds a contemporary perspective to the association’s fiscal oversight.

The composition of the board reflects a deliberate strategy to capture expertise across a broad spectrum of industries. Members represent fintech, technology, insurance, luxury, entertainment, consumer, and industrial sectors, ensuring that ACCHK can address the varied legal challenges faced by in‑house counsel in Hong Kong’s dynamic market. This sectoral breadth is complemented by a culturally diverse roster that spans Europe, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Canada, reinforcing the association’s commitment to a global outlook while remaining rooted in local practice.

Board director Candy Au heads corporate compliance at an insurance firm operating in Hong Kong and Macau. Her role shows the association’s focus on regulatory compliance, an area of heightened relevance as Hong Kong continues to refine its data privacy and financial legislation. Susan Lai, a legal counsel at Alibaba Group, adds insight from one of the region’s most influential technology conglomerates, while Hsiang Low, co‑founder, general counsel and director of operations at fintech company Riverchain, contributes a start‑up perspective on emerging financial technologies.

Further strengthening the board’s cross‑industry representation, Andrew Olson serves as general counsel for Prada Asia Pacific, bringing luxury‑sector legal acumen, and Michael Yang holds the position of vice president and legal counsel at Galaxy Entertainment, offering expertise in the entertainment and hospitality arena. The inclusion of these senior legal professionals ensures that ACCHK can curate events and resources that resonate with a wide array of corporate legal departments.

President Tse outlined her immediate agenda, emphasizing the importance of deepening ties with ACC Global. By aligning closely with the global network’s strategic initiatives, she aims to import best practices that will reinforce stable leadership within the Hong Kong chapter and attract new members seeking a robust professional community. Tse also highlighted the abundant opportunities for in‑house counsel skilled in compliance, data privacy, and finance law, noting Hong Kong’s ambition to evolve into a cash‑treasury hub for multinational enterprises. This strategic direction is expected to generate demand for lawyers proficient in corporate treasury operations and loan financing, areas where the board’s collective expertise can provide valuable guidance.

The new board will sustain ACCHK’s core mission of connecting and advancing the region’s in‑house legal community. Through a calendar of events, seminars, conferences and other initiatives, the association plans to deliver targeted knowledge sharing that reflects the latest regulatory developments and industry trends. By leveraging the varied backgrounds of its directors, ACCHK intends to curate programming that not only addresses immediate legal concerns but also anticipates future challenges faced by corporate counsel across the Asia‑Pacific region.

In addition to its external outreach, the board is poised to enhance internal collaboration among members. The presence of senior legal practitioners from both multinational corporations and specialized consultancies creates a fertile environment for mentorship, peer‑to‑peer learning, and the exchange of practical solutions to complex legal issues. This collaborative spirit aligns with ACCHK’s longstanding objective of supporting a cohesive network where members can draw upon shared experiences to handle the evolving legal setting.

Overall, the refreshed leadership team signals a forward‑looking vision for the Association of Corporate Counsel Hong Kong Chapter. By marrying sectoral depth with geographic diversity and a clear strategic focus on global alignment and emerging legal opportunities, the board is well positioned to drive meaningful engagement and professional development for Hong Kong’s in‑house counsel community.
