Grandway Law Offices announced that it has added three new partners to its ranks, a move aimed at strengthening its capital markets and intellectual‑property practices in both Suzhou and Shanghai.
Capital markets expertise bolstered in Suzhou
Former senior partner Xu Wei will join the firm’s Suzhou office. Prior to the appointment, he led the capital markets group at Kangda Law Firm and spent time as senior counsel at City Development Law Firm’s Suzhou branch. Xu Wei also headed the innovative finance practice at Gold Group Law Firm, a Jiangsu‑based firm.
Before entering private practice, Xu served as an assistant judge in Yandu District People’s Court, Yancheng, and later as deputy head of the No. 1 Civil Division of Kunshan People’s Court. His courtroom background gives him a solid grasp of dispute resolution.
Xu’s practice focuses on securities and capital markets, cross‑border investment, mergers and acquisitions, and tax matters. He has also advised Chinese companies on outbound investments in South Korea, Singapore and Vietnam.
Intellectual‑property leadership expands in Shanghai
Two new partners will sit in the Shanghai branch. The first, Zhu Ting, previously led the IP department at Yingke Law Firm’s Jinhua office and later served as executive director and senior partner at boutique Xinyi Law Firm. She returned to Yingke in 2022 as deputy director of its Global Intellectual Property Service Centre’s Shanghai sub‑centre.

Zhu’s work centers on IP protection, corporate compliance and intangible‑asset management. She advises firms in new‑energy, industrial manufacturing, high‑end equipment and cross‑border e‑commerce sectors on international IP operations, and also supports licensing strategies across borders.
The second addition, Yang Yu, brings more than 25 years of legal experience. Before joining Grandway, she was a partner at Watson & Band Law Offices’ Shanghai headquarters. Earlier, she served as a judge at Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate People’s Court and Shanghai High People’s Court, then moved to a legal‑technology company as deputy general manager.
Yang’s background includes a bachelor’s degree in precision instruments and mechanics and a master’s in civil and commercial law. She handles both contentious and non‑contentious IP matters, especially those involving technical issues, and her portfolio includes long‑term patent counsel and trade‑secret compliance for well‑known corporations.
